A turf specialist’s experience.
Steve brings 52 years in the synthetic turf industry and 55 years playing golf to Performance Turf Innovations. A single-digit handicap golfer since age 16, he approaches each Celebrity Greens Golf Complex with a player’s understanding of the game.
His golf experience includes working with Brian Silva on the restoration of Glens Falls Country Club toward its original Donald Ross design. That experience informs the questions he brings to a property: how a shot plays, how contours influence a putt, and how the different parts of a golf layout work together.
He leads the conversation about how you want to play and what your property needs. The shape of the layout, the relationship to the landscape, and the intended golf experience all belong in the plan.
Steve also has his own 2,000-square-foot Celebrity Greens golf complex and welcomes prospective clients to come and play. As a Celebrity Greens partner, he connects that personal experience with a specialized synthetic-turf system.

Elmer directs the installation crew and oversees the proper base, contours and slopes. His work connects the design intent to the practical decisions made on site.
Elmer guides the crew’s attention to the base, contours, slopes and transitions that connect the planned layout to the finished surface. Those details support the golf experience Steve and the client have worked toward.
Working within Steve’s project direction, Elmer leads the crew’s hands-on installation work, carrying the agreed plan through to the finished surface.

Jon Claude Haines
Making the work easier to see.
Helping the business work better.
Jon Claude brings together website development, video production and AI orchestration to help Performance Turf present its work clearly and connect with prospective customers. He turns project photographs, technical information and Steve’s business direction into websites, marketing content and practical digital tools.
Behind the scenes, he develops the systems and automations that connect those efforts with day-to-day business operations. His production-minded approach joins the creative work to the systems behind it—from shaping a story and producing a video to building the tools that help an inquiry reach the right person.
His role is to make the team’s expertise easier to see, understand and act on.
Originally from East Moriches, Long Island, Jon Claude began taking golf lessons at thirteen, riding his bicycle—with his golf clubs—to Rock Hill Golf Club in Manorville. His favorite part of golf has always been the short game, especially putting. “It takes me extra strokes to get on the dance floor, but once I do, it’s my favorite place to be.”
